CCER’s checklist for a successful and safe Christmas party
As the ‘silly season’ gets into full swing, now is the time for employers to remind themselves of their work Christmas party obligations.
Whilst an ideal time for everyone to celebrate and wind down, employers need to ensure workers understand what behaviour and conduct is acceptable, and what the repercussions could be if these standards are not met. When things go wrong at the work Christmas party employers may find themselves liable for the inappropriate behaviour, including discrimination, workplace harassment/bullying or sexual harassment. All staff should be made aware of the relevant workplace policies and employers should intervene if they witness any inappropriate behaviour.
We have developed a checklist to help our members meet their obligations at all times and to keep employee safety at the forefront of their minds.
